PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ground fabric for an air bag, which is effective for making an air bag module compact-size, light and thin, and has good storing capability by forming a thin coating film thereon without using a solvent. SOLUTION: This ground fabric for an air bag is obtained by forming a coating film on the surface of a woven fabric of a thermoplastic synthetic filament yarn. In the ground fabric for an air bag, the fineness of the filament yarn is 100 to 250d, and the coating film is formed by applying an addition type silicone rubber coating agent by a coating amount of 5-35 g/m2 without being diluted by a solvent.
