PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base isolation device for reducing vibration by extending the period of vibration of an upper structure in relation to the long-period vertical earthquake. SOLUTION: A lever beam 32 is interposed between a lower structure 22 and an upper structure 24, the end 32a far from a fulcrum of the lever beam 32 is connected to either of the upper structure 24 and the lower structure, and the other end 32b and the other structure are connected to each other through a vertical base isolation member 40. A parallel link mechanism 50 is provided between the lower structure 22 and the upper structure 24. A jack 46 for rotating the lever beam 32 is provided. The base isolation device 10 and a horizontal base isolation device 58 are arranged in series.
