PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the accuracy of a computer aided diagnostic system in performing diagnosis through comparative shadow reading of the current and previous images by aligning the sliced positions of the current and previous images with each other. SOLUTION: This computer aided diagnostic system includes an area extracting portion 210 for extracting the areas of the lung field, heart, and descending artery from a current multi-slice CT image and a previous multi-slice CT image, and a slice matching portion 220 for achieving matching between the anatomical positions of the current image and the previous image with respect to the axis of the body according to indeices related to the sizes and configurations of the areas extracted from the current and previous images. |
