PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color proofing device and a method thereof capable of solving a problem in connection with an ink jet image. SOLUTION: There is disclosed a color proofing device 11 wherein an image is written into a prelaminate substrate 32 and it is equipped with an ink jet print head 602 for writing the image into the prelaminate substrate 32. A lead screw 250 moves the ink jet print head 602 with respect to the prelaminate substrate 32 in a first direction. The prelaminate substrate 32 is attached to a vacuum image drum 300 which is rotated by a motor 341 with respect to the ink jet print head.
