PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new phosphorus-containing polymer having a phenolaldehyde structure. SOLUTION: This new phosphorus-containing polymer comprises repeating units (a), repeating units (b) consisting of repeating units (b1) or repeating units (b2), and optionally repeating units (c). Products prepared by using this polymer, its epoxidized polymer, or an epoxy resin composition containing such a polymer are excellent in processibility and can be used for producing prepregs, composite materials, laminates, printed circuit boards, and electronic package materials excellent in flame retardance and heat resistance even when the products do not contain a flame retardant. |
