PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separation system which improves the separation efficiency of an aluminum separator (maintenance of separation purity, improvement of treatment capacity) without enlarging equipment on the side of the aluminum separator even when the mixing ratio of plastic bottles is high and an amount to be separation-treated is large. SOLUTION: In the separation system for separating resource refuse 3 in which at least aluminum cans and the plastic bottles are mixed into the aluminum cans and the plastic bottles, a plastic bottle separator 17 for separating the plastic bottles by using a screen 36 is installed on the upstream side of the aluminum separator 18 for separating the aluminum cans. Since the large volume plastic bottles of a particularly large load on the aluminum separator 18 are removed by the plastic bottle separator 17 using the screen 16, the number of the plastic bottles to be charged into the aluminum separator 18 is reduced remarkably to reduce the load of the aluminum separator 18. Accordingly, the separation purity of the aluminum separator 18 is maintained, and the treatment capacity is also improved.
