SELF-LUBRICATING SLIDING MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-lubricating sliding material advantageous in combining wear resistance with seizure resistance. SOLUTION: The self-lubricating sliding material is constituted of a base material 1 and a solid lubricant layer 3 which is laminated on the surface of the base material 1 and formed by using a solid lubricant having self lubricity. The solid lubricant layer 3 contains hard components such as titanium. The content concentration of the hard components is set in such a way that it is relatively higher on the base material 1 side of the solid lubricant layer 3 than on the exposed surface 3s side of the solid lubricant layer 3 and also relatively lower on the exposed surface 3s side of the solid lubricant layer 3 than on the base material 1 side.
