PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shield machine capable of improving the excavation capability of a rocking cutter disk, increasing the excavating speed of the shield machine, and dissolving an excavation infeasible region. SOLUTION: A center excavating device is provided with a center cutter 17 rotatably arranged near the rocking center of the rocking cutter disk 2 and a rotative driving mechanism 19 capable of rotatively driving the center cutter 17 independently of the rocking cutter disk 2 via a center shaft 18.
