PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for using a condensate filter capable of efficiently filtering the condensate of a thermal power plant. SOLUTION: A filer 210 formed by squeezing and folding a cylindrical filter membrane sheet material with the average opening diameter of a membrane filter controlled to 2-10μm radially inward at regular intervals at 250-290 turns/ m and with the full surface made filterable and a supporting cylinder 201 containing the filter 210 and with the inside and outside permeable to water are arranged to constitute a cartridge-type filter device 2. The filter device 2 is set in a filter tower 1 in a condensate treating line of a power plant, and the condensate is passed through the filter 210 at 0.2-0.3 m3/h/m2 and filtered.
