PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water softening device capable of eliminating leakage of a hard components, also having a simple constitution, and being inexpensive. SOLUTION: In this water softening device provided with a water softener 1, a regeneration unit 2 for regenerating a resin in the water softener 1, and a control device 3 for controlling the water softener 1 and the regeneration unit 2, an inner cylinder 1a is provided in a casing 1V of the water softener 1, and an outflow part 1e for soft water is provided at the upper part of the inner cylinder 1a. An inflow part 1c is provided at the upper part of the casing 1V, and a takeout port 1f for water for testing water quality is provided at the lower part of the casing 1V. When a hard component is detected in the water for testing water quality, the ion exchange resin R is regenerated with the regeneration unit 2.
