PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply device for an AC elevator capable of absorbing regenerative power properly and compensating driving power. SOLUTION: This power supply device for an elevator in which a motor is controlled through an inverter by electric power from commercial power supply is provided with a battery charged by regenerative power, and a circuit supplying power of the battery to the inverter is provided. A power supply device controlling an input voltage of an inverter provided with a circuit maintaining a charging amount of a battery to a proper amount to a fixed voltage may be provided.
