PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an oil-based ink for electrostatic ink jet recording excellent in ink-jetting stability, clear image-forming properties and image strength and capable of forming a printing plate permitting to print a large number of printed matters having a clear image. SOLUTION: The oil-based ink for an electrostatic ink jet recording comprises at least copolymer resin particles dispersed in a non-aqueous carrier liquid having an electrical resistance of at least 109 Ω.cm and a dielectric constant of 3.5 or less, the copolymer resin particles being obtained by subjecting to polymerization and granulation a solution containing a monofunctional monomer (A) soluble in the non- aqueous solvent and insolubilized therein when polymerized, a monofunctional macromonomer (MM) which bears a polymerizable double bond bonded to only one end of the main chain of a polymer comprising a recurring unit bearing a substituent containing a fluorine atom and/or a silicon atom and has a weight-average mol.wt. of 2×104 or less, and a star copolymer comprising at least three A-B type block polymer chains, bonded to an organic residue, composed of a block A comprising a polymer component corresponding to the above monomer A and/or a polymer component bearing a specific polar group and a block B comprising a polymer component having a specific structure. |
