PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new protein derived from humans or the corresponding DNA encoding the protein (salt), useful in e.g. screening agonists/antagonists, to provide a method for determining a ligand for the protein, to provide a method for screening compounds altering the bindability of the protein to such a ligand, to provide a kit for use in screening such compounds, and to provide such compounds (salts) obtained by the above screening method. SOLUTION: This protein or the corresponding DNA encoding the protein can be used in, for example, (1) determining a ligand for the protein, (2) screening prophylactic and/or therapeutic agents for diseases associated with the dysfunction of the protein, and (3) screening compounds (e.g. agonists, antagonists) altering the bindability of the protein to such a ligand as mentioned above. |
