PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an information about gene aberration (mutation) as a host side factor capable of previously foreseeing the effectiveness of IFN(interferon) therapy. SOLUTION: The method for detecting the aberration of IRF-1 (interferon regulatory factor-1)gene, particularly the method of detection for judging the effectiveness of IFN therapeutic effect, is carried out by measuring the base substitution of guanidine in the 196 position of the promoter domain of IRF-1 gene to adenine. Further, an IRF-1 gene having a mutation due to the above base substitution or a gene fragment containing the mutation is obtained. |
