PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hair rinse composition capable of softening the hair, smoothing the hair surface, improving the combing, imparting luster or gloss to the hair, especially sustaining effects for a long period, suppressing the dryness and looseness of the hair even in a dry environment and excellent in coherency of the hair. SOLUTION: This hair rinse composition is characterized as comprising (A) a cationic surfactant, (B) a higher alcohol having a 14-22C alkyl group, (C) one or more silicones represented by the general formula (I) (wherein R1s denote each methyl group or a part thereof may each denote phenyl group; R2S denote each methyl group or hydroxyl group; and n denotes an integer of 800-20,000) and (D) 5-30 mass% of an oil which is pasty at 20 deg.C and has a melting point at 30-55 deg.C.
