PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an expellant of an ectoparasite for an animal, capable of exhibiting high exterminating activities by a small amount thereof applied to the animal. SOLUTION: This expellant of the ectoparasite for the animal is a liquid preparation for external use, containing 2-(4-ethoxyphenyl)-2-methylpropyl 3- phenoxybenzyl ether and an insect growth regulator as an active ingredient, and a vegetable oil such as an olive oil, a cottonseed oil and a rapeseed oil, or a purified product thereof as a spreading component.
