PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment method for a chlorine-containing organic compound decomposing catalyst decomposing and removing DXNs adhering to a catalyst used in the cleaning of DXNs-containing gas to ensure safe work environment at a time of routine inspection or the drawing-out of the catalyst and capable of safely and easily discarding or recycling the used catalyst. SOLUTION: A DXNs decomposing catalyst, which is based on titanium oxide and contains vanadium and molybdenum or tungsten, used in the cleaning of exhaust gas which contains a chlorine-containing organic compound is brought into contact with NO2-containing gas to oxidize and decompose the chlorine- containing organic compound adhering to the catalyst by NO2.
