PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a velour having raised area made of polyester fibers, and designed to be further favorably raised so as to improve its color deepness and feel of touch. SOLUTION: This velour is such one as to form raised area through cutting the pile surface of a knit, wherein the raised area is constituted of modified cross-section polyester filament yarns, having such compression characteristics as to be >=0.6 in raised surface compression stiffness, >=20% in compressibility and >=25% in compression recovery.
