PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a device for cutting blank space around an image recording area. SOLUTION: Images are recorded on recording paper 2 by successive three- color faces by a thermal head 7. On a carrier path of recording paper 2, a cutter unit 20 is arranged. The cutter unit 20 is constituted by integrally incorporating a front/rear end blank space cutter 21 and a both-side end blank space cutter 22. The front/rear end blank space cutter 21 moves a disc blade 40 in the width direction of recording paper 2 by utilizing one direction driving of a single motor. As a result, a front end or rear end blank space of the carrier direction of recording paper 2 is cut. The both-side end blank space cutter 22 cuts both side blank space of recording paper 2 by a pair of slitters constituted of an upper rotary blade and a lower rotary blade. By moving the pair of the slitters from a cutting position to an evacuating position by the other direction driving of the motor, recording paper 2 is finished into two kinds of the presence of blank space and the absence of blank space.
