PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt cleaner capable of surely scraping extraneous matter from the surface of a belt without damaging the life of a conveyer belt. SOLUTION: A supporter 20 extending in almost the belt width direction is installed on the belt return side of a conveyer belt 10 a cleaner body 30 is supported in the supporter so as to have an angle to the belt conveying direction and come in contact with the surface of the conveyer belt to be conveyed, and when the cleaner body comes in contact with the surface extraneous matter of the conveyer belt to be conveyed, the cleaner body scrapes the surface extraneous matter from the inclined direction to the belt conveying direction by utilizing component of force in the inclined direction to the belt conveying force.
