PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for switching a paper feeding portion before jamming of paper, with reduced frequency of replenishing paper, and frequency of occurrence of jamming, thus resolving inconvenience in the part image forming device equipped with a plurality of feeding parts. SOLUTION: Detecting switches 10a, 10b, 10c, 10d are respectively provided on a plurality of paper feeding portions 7a, 7b, 7c, 7d. Time required before the detecting switch 10 is turned on after a pay out roller 8 from a paper storing portion 7 starts rotating is measured. A measured value is compared with a prescribed reference time to determine whether paper slip occurs more than a prescribed amount of not. When the slip amount of the paper exceeds the prescribed amount, paper feeding from the paper feeding portion 7 is stopped, and shifted to paper feeding from another feeding portion 7.
