PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interior material capable of reducing a projecting height of a rib while maintaining high shock absorbing performance to restrain the intrusion amount thereof in a space of a vehicle compartment. SOLUTION: This interior material for a vehicle includes a facing member 2 having a C-shaped cross section provided like a cover on the inside of the vehicle compartment of a vehicle panel 7 through a space 4, and plural plate-like ribs 3 projected from the back side of the facing member facing to the vehicle panel into the above space. The facing member 2 and the plate-like ribs 3 are integrally formed by using synthetic resin material with the peak height of 0.04 or more of tangent of loss near the test temperature, and each plate-like rib 3 is provided with cut-out parts 31, 32, a stepped part and a deformation guiding means 30 such as a thin part or the like to buckle and deform a portion projected on the vehicle panel in the midway position of projection in the mutually independent form to intersect in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle panel and extend between the side walls 21, 22 of the facing member when a shock from an occupant is applied thereto.
