PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a low lift, and improve the elevating and lowering efficiency of a fork. SOLUTION: An electric motor 61, a screw shaft 62 which is vertically erected to be rotated around the shaft by the electric motor 61, and an elevating and lowering device 6 provided with a nut member 63 screwed onto the screw shaft 63, are provided in a base 2 supported by a drive wheel 1. The tip of a lift arm 3 which is journalled to the base 2 and to the tip of which the base end part of a fork 4 is connected, is connected to the nut member 63, and the tip of the lift arm 3 is elevated and lowered integrally with the base end part of the fork 4 by the nut member 63 which is moved vertically along the screw shaft by controlling the screw shaft 62 forward, or reverse. The lift arm 3 and a load wheel 5 which is provided at the tip of the fork 4 to support the fork, are connected through a push rod 54, and thus the load wheel 5 is made to rise and fall as the base end part of the fork 4 is elevated and lowered.
