PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thread guide device of a spreader thread take-up lever that can slack an upper fancy yarn so that it can easily disengage from a barb of a spreader in the middle of device travel from the top to the bottom dead center, and thus offer stable stitches. SOLUTION: The thread guide device of a spreader thread take-up lever has a needlebar 8 vertically movable in synchronism with a spindle, a spreader thread take-up lever 14 fixed to the needlebar for synchronous vertical movement therewith, and two thread eyelets 18a and 20a keeping the spreader thread take-up lever in between. The two thread eyelets are vertically interspaced, and the spreader thread take-up lever is formed with a thread eyelet 14a, through which an upper fancy yarn 32a between the two thread eyelets is passed.
