PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing unit that automatically updates EPG data with a simple configuration. SOLUTION: A timer 112 turns on power at the date and time updated on the basis of distribution schedule information included in the EPG data. Then an EPG data storage section 121 stores the EPG data with power applied to, and the power is turned off after updating the date and time. Thus, the EPG data newly received updates contents in the EPG data storage section 121.
