PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a card connector which is not broken even when an IC card is erroneously inserted but can keep good reliability in connection. SOLUTION: A card connector comprises a side 23 for guiding connector 21 to the side of an IC card 1, a bottom 24 which has a support side 24a for supporting the back or front side of the IC card, stages 24b for engaging a convex 4a formed on the back 4 therewith in a supported condition of the back of the IC card so that the convex 4a moves in an attachment/detachment direction X, and an upper plate 25 for regulating float of the IC card 1 above a flat plane. The upper plate part 25 has a regulation plane for regulating the flat of the IC card above the flat plane, also has an engagement groove g for making the convex 4a of the back 4 move in the attachment/detachment direction of the IC card 1 in such a condition that the regulation plane faces the back side 4.
