PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor light-emitting device wherein, the blue light emitted from a blue-color light-emitting chip, for example, and yellow-green color which is wavelength-converted are evened to provide a pure white luminosity. SOLUTION: A flip chip type light-emitting element 2 is conductive-mounted on a sub-mount element 1, and the light-emitting element 2 is sealed with a package 3 of a resin comprising fluorescent material for wavelength conversion. The thickness of the package 3 from the outside surface of the light-emitting element 2 is almost constant in the entire orientation in light-emission direction so that the wavelength conversion by the fluorescent material is even in the entire orientation in light-emission direction of the light-emitting element.
