PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system which eliminates the need for controlling en bloc the telephone number of all communication lines that are used at the calling side, can surely carry out the communication and is suitably applied to the video conference communication, the remote image monitoring communication, etc. SOLUTION: When a video conference device A communicates with a video conference device B by means of all three lines, the device A uses one of line numbers of the device B to call the device B. The device A transmits the information on the number of lines to be connected to the device B after the communication is started by means of a single line. The device B fetches the received information on the said number of lines into its internal memory, calls the information on its remaining telephone numbers accordant with the number of connecting lines out of the memory and sends there information to the calling device A. The device A stores the received telephone number information in its internal memory, calls again every line number of the device B according to the telephone number information and connects all three lines.
