PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent apertures of a shadow mask that pass an electron beam from shifting from the original position, to cause lowering of color purity of the screen by reducing vibration of neighbors of two free sides of the mask in resonance with external vibration. SOLUTION: Provided at nonperforated portion of two free sides of a shadow mask 102 is a notch 102B that does not reach a perforated portion 102C. As a result, vibration of he shadow mask 102 is reduced.
