PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent shape specifying of a square cone part or corresponding deflection coil and core of the deflection yoke from becoming complicate, when the square cone part is adopted for the bulb of a cathode-ray tube to save power consumption. SOLUTION: In this cathode-ray tube equipped with a bulb of cathode-ray tube, having a square cone portion and a deflection yoke that mounts on the square core portion of the cathode-ray tube bulb and has deflecting coils and cores, shape prescription of each composing element is simplified by defining the cross-sectional shape, when a virtual plane normal to the central axis of cathode-ray tube with a super ellipse equation expressed by (X/a)k+(X/b)k=1, wit respect to at least one of respective composing elements: the square-shape cone portion, deflection coils and cores.
