PURPOSE: An array substrate for a liquid display device is provided to reduce an process error by patterning a semiconductor layer and a signal wire metal simultaneously. CONSTITUTION: An array substrate for a liquid display device comprises a transparent substrate, a scanning signal line(110), a gate electrode(109), a signal line having a source and a drain electrodes, and a semiconductor layer(114). The scanning signal line is formed in a direction and the gate electrode is formed by protruding from the scanning signal line. The source line is intersected in vertically intervening an insulating layer between the scanning line and the source line and the drain electrode is separated form the source electrode in any distance. The semiconductor layer is placed and patterned with the signal line, the source electrode and the drain electrode simultaneously.
