PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a satellite communication terminal that can select and acquire a satellite optimum to communication among satellites in existence up in the sky. SOLUTION: The satellite communication terminal is provided with a start condition discrimination means 2 that discriminates whether or not optimum satellite acquisition processing is to be started, a satellite orbit prediction means 4 that predicts a satellite position at a prescribed, time, an optimum satellite selection means 5 that selects a satellite by which an optimum communication state is obtained, and a detection means 6 that discriminates whether or not the satellite in acquired. The satellite orbit prediction means 4 calculates positions of satellites in existence up in the sky when the start condition discrimination means 2 discriminates the necessity of the satellite acquisition processing, the optimum satellite selection means 5 selects a satellite optimum to the communication among the satellites in existence up in the sky on the basis of the result of the calculation of satellite position by the satellite orbit prediction means 4 and the detection means 6 discriminates whether or not the selected satellite is acquired. |
