PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a novel method for surely recovering a low-melting point organic solvent such as normal hexane neglected in the past, thereby preventing adverse effects on natural environment. SOLUTION: A sample container 5 containing a sample containing a low- melting point organic solvent L is heated in a closed evaporator 20, an evaporated gas is circulated in an evaporated gas circulation passage 25 connected to the evaporator 20. The evaporator gas is cooled, liquefied and recovered in the passage 25 while the circulation is continued, thereby a target substance of detection in the solvent L is subjected to evaporation to dryness.
