PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently manage consumables which are supplied in a cartridge and supplied. SOLUTION: The system for managing consumables for an electronic equipment consists of a data carrier which is attached to the cartridge for storing the consumables including toner to be used in the electronic equipment and of a reader/writer which is arranged at the side of a main body in the equipment. In the system, a prescribed communication is executed between the reader/ writer and the data carrier, the propriety of the consumables stored in the cartridge for storing them is confirmed and, then, the usage of the cartridge 2 is prevented, which is not given a prescribed ID code, a password, a usage permission code, a management code, the number of printing, a toner shortage detecting code and an abnormality detecting code. |
