PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely restart display only when necessary in a computer provided with a function for temporarily interrupting power supply to a display device and stopping display when an optical sensor for detecting operator's presence or absence senses that a state of operator's absence is continued for fixed time or more and an operator does not executes input operation from an input device for fixed time or more. SOLUTION: When operator's existence is recognized by the optical sensor in the active state of a power saving function and the operator touches a certain position of a keyboard other than keys or a certain position of a mouse other than buttons as display restarting operation or speaks a previously registered language, the operator's action is recognized and power supply to the display device is restarted to execute display again.
