<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of the conventional vehicle radar device that when the beam scan angle is expanded by horizontal scanning, an unnecessary object at a distance on the side of a vehicle is detected, or interference with a beam of oncoming cars is caused. SOLUTION: An electromagnetic wave transmitted by a primary radiator 1 disposed on a focal point of a reflecting mirror 2 is reflected by the reflecting mirror 2 to form an electromagnetic wave with a designated beam width, the electromagnetic wave is scanned right and left by a scanning means and applied to an object, an electromagnetic wave reflected from the object is received to detect the object. In this arrangement, shafts 3, 4 supporting the reflecting mirror 2 are disposed at an angle to the vertical line 7 so that the larger the angle of scanning right and left is, the more the electromagnetic wave directs downward, and the shafts 3, 4 are turned to scan the electromagnetic wave.</p> |
