PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To calculate the actual size of a subject easily and precisely even under various photographing conditions in a photographed-image processor which calculates the actual size of the subject on the basis of a photographed image obtained by photographing the subject. SOLUTION: In a photographed image obtained by photographing a subject by using a digital camera 20, the boundary between the image of the subject and the image of a background is detected, and the coordinates in the up-and- down end and the left-and-right end of the image of the subject are stored. The number of pixels corresponding to 1 mm is calculated on the basis of a photographing magnification found from the zoom value of the digital camera 20 in a photographing operation, on the basis of a photographing distance and a photographing resolution which are found from a focus value and on the basis of a factor which is stored in advance. The number of pixels is calculated on the basis of the coordinates in the up-and-down end and the right-and-left end of the image of the subject, and the actual size of the subject is calculated on the basis of the number of pixels and on the basis of the number of pixels per mm.
