PURPOSE: An accelerator pedal of a vehicle is provided to prevent a brake pedal and an accelerator pedal from being stepped on at the same time, and to maximize operation of a tension spring by inclining a footplate of the accelerator to the right. CONSTITUTION: An accelerator pedal(100) is composed of a fixed plate(32) installed in the floor of a vehicle body; and a footplate(10) combined with the right end of the fixed plate by a shaft(18). Rubber is mounted in the upper part of the footplate, and a potentiometer(22) is installed in the lower part of the footplate by a sensor shaft(24). A roller(28) is connected to the sensor shaft by a link(26), and a coiling part of a tension spring(50) is inserted to the sensor shaft. The footplate is lifted up by the tension spring with fitting a sill to a pin(40) of the link. A protruded rail(30) is installed in the upper part of the fixed plate, and contacted to a roller(28). Interference of the accelerator pedal is prevented with inclining the left of the footplate to the right with 10 angular degrees and inclining the right of the footplate with 2 angular degrees. Accidents and breakage of the pedal are prevented.
