PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital video texture analyzing method for more exactly analyzing and comparing the texture characteristics of video. SOLUTION: An average μ0 of pixel values in source video and a dispersion σ0 of pixel values in the source video are found (a), m×n pieces of filtered video are found by filtering the source video while using a prescribed filter having the combination of (m) scales and (n) directivities when (m) and (n) are defined as prescribed positive numbers (b), averages μ11, μ21,..., μmn and dispersions σ11, σ21,..., σmn of each of filtered video are found (c), and a texture describer containing the average μ0 of pixel values in the source video, the dispersion σ0 of pixel values in the source video found on the said stage (a), the averages μ11, μ21,..., μmn and dispersions σ11, σ21,..., σmn of each of filtered video found on the said stage (c) as texture features is found (d). |
