PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system which has small heat capacity as a whole of system, can be speedily started and stopped in operation, and can speedily cope with the fluctuation of a load. SOLUTION: The fuel cell system including a membrane hydrogen generator (10) for advancing partial oxidization reaction and aqueous gas shift reaction of original fuel made of hydrocarbon or methanol and for making generated hydrogen permeate through a hydrogen permeation film (24) and extracting hydrogen, an air supply route (42) for supplying mixture of a cathode emission gas and an original fuel gas to the hydrogen generator (10), and a water vapor separator (12) for separating water vapor from the cathode emission gas through a water vapor permeation film (34) and for supplying the separated water vapor as a sweep gas to the hydrogen generator (10). |
