PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable information system that enables a user to obtain necessary information from a homepage even though the user does not know the URL of a shop homepage. SOLUTION: A portable information terminal 1 has a radio telephone communication function such as a PHS and a guide switch 1c requesting regional information from an Internet provider 5, communicates with a base station 3A or 3B through an antenna 1A and also obtains the information of the present location by a GPS. The stations 3A and 3B are connected to a public communication network 2 such as an ISDN through an exchange and connect the network 2 to the terminal 1. A server 5c having a database 5d where data are stored is connected to the network 2 through the access points 4A to 4D of the provider 5 and a provider communication network 5a. The terminal 1 accesses the server 5c, retrieves the information of stores in the area shown by the present location information based on the present location information and a guide control signal, and the server transmits the information to the terminal 1. |
