<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of the conventional discharge-lamp lighting device with which the actions of the device become uncertain with deterioration of a battery, since the conventional detection circuit has detected the up and down movements of battery voltage under the circumstances where the battery may be damaged when the discharge lamp is lighted with the engine not being actuated and there is a necessity to control the discharge-lamp device by detecting actions of the engine. SOLUTION: This discharge-lamp lighting device comprises an alternating- component filter circuit 411 including an alternating amplification circuit, a comparator circuit 412 including a detection circuit, and a CR smoothing circuit 413. An engine-action judgment circuit 41 is arranged to detect engine's action/ suspension by detecting the alternating component outputted by a generator 35 of the engine or the ignition-noise component of an ignition circuit 36, and when the engine suspension is detected, the discharge lamp is put out.</p> |
