PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile system that enhances the probability of facsimile transmission via a computer network so as to properly reduce the communication cost. SOLUTION: A CPU 11 informs a caller facsimile terminal about its own address in a procedure before communication started by receiving an incoming call via a PSTN 1. When receiving an address of an opposite party in the procedure before communication, the CPU 11 of the caller facsimile equipment captures the informed address and interrupts a link set by the PSTN 1. Then the CPU 11 after interrupting the link in this way transmits a FAX mail addressed to the noted address to the Internet 2.
