PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic liquid developer having excellent dispersibility of a coloring agent in toner particles, dispersion stability of the toner particles in a high insulating liquid, electrophoretic property, electrodeposition strength, and transfer and fixing property, having high resistivity and excellent excessive ion characteristics. SOLUTION: In the electrophotographic developer prepared by dispersing toner particles in a high insulating liquid, the resin which constitutes the toner particles essentially consists of (A) a graft copolymer consisting of a main polymer insoluble with the high insulating liquid and a branch polymer soluble with the high insulating liquid and having at least one kind of polar group selected from among sulfo groups, carboxyl groups, amino groups, phospho groups, phenolic hydroxyl groups and pyridyl groups by >=0.02 meq per 1 g of the branch polymer. Or the resin consists of (B) a graft copolymer consisting of a main polymer insoluble with the high insulating liquid and a branch polymer soluble with the high insulating liquid and having hydroxyl groups by >=0.3 meq to 1 g of the branch polymer.
