PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems in a conventional image display device which has a plurality of video display areas with different definitions, where complicated processing has been required for an image to be projected, quality of a video image at borders of the areas with different definitions has been deteriorated and only a degree of freedom for discrete adjustment has been given to the adjustment of the definitions. SOLUTION: The image display device is provided with a plurality of image projections and the definition of the video image within a projection area in charges of each image projector is uniformalized. Furthermore, the definition of the video image is adjusted depending on the arrangement of the image projectors. The resolution of the image supplied to each image projector is identical to each other. The image projectors are placed so that the projection areas in charge of each of the projectors are overlapped with respect to at least the two image projectors whose projection areas are adjacent to each other where the definitions of the video images in the projection areas differ from each other and video images subjected to color modulation processing are projected to the areas.
