PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network configuration method and system that can decide a necessity minimum link to be added to a network in order to secure two link independent paths or over at least to any connection point in the case of setting the paths for communication with an external host and a storage medium storing a network configuration program. SOLUTION: This invention decides first a case to which a network belongs in order to secure two independent link paths or over at least to any connection point when setting the paths for communication with an external host, and a link to be added according to a link addition procedure in the case to which the network belongs so as to decide a link to be added to secure two link independent paths or over from an optional node at least to any connection point.
