PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for surely erasing a picture part by drop out color which is set to a reading object original in a picture reader. SOLUTION: This picture reader is provided with an achromatic degree judging part for investigating the achromatic degree of read output read by a reading part to judge whether the read output value is achromatic or not and an output conversion part for converting the read output value, which is judged to be not achromatic by the achromatic degree judging part, to white output. Further, the controlling method of the picture reader investigates the mutual difference values between red components, green components and blue components, judges their achromatic degree and converts colors except for achromatic colors to white to erase all the chromatic output. In addition, a procedure for executing the control is stored in a computer-readable recording medium. |
