PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a total station equipped with picture recording means which allows the confirmation to be performed on a picture and facilitates to form drawings accurately by solving such problems in the prior art that the survey and the field photographing have been separately made, data observed by the surveying instrument have been recorded once on field notes or electronic field notes and then have been calculated, the field condition has been photographed by digital cameras, etc., and the survey drawings have been formed by the field photographs or based on the memory of observers, resulting in inaccurate aspects and worse efficiency. SOLUTION: The observation and photographing are made at the same time from the same spot, and to make the observation point data coincide with the field points, a digital video camera and its recorder are incorporated in a surveying total station, thereby integrating them.
