PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dot matrix type display device which can be improved in productivity by making a dot matrix unit having luminous parts arranged in a matrix shape common and magnifying/contracting only a display surface. SOLUTION: In the display device, the dot matrix unit 1 in which the luminous parts 11 are arranged in a matrix shape to give desired display is formed and a light guiding unit 2, which forms the display surface having an area different from that of the display surface of the dot matrix unit 1 by respectively guiding light from respective luminous parts 11, is provided on a surface of the dot matrix unit 1. In the light guiding unit 2, one end part thereof corresponds to each luminous part 11 of the dot matrix unit 1 and another end part is formed of a light guiding fiber 21 which is provided so as to have pitch different from pitch of the each luminous part in the dot matrix unit 1 and a light shielding material 22 for fixing the light guiding fiber 21.
