PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high reliability heat developable diazo copying material having heat developability suitable also for high-speed copying and long-term preservability. SOLUTION: The heat developable diazo copying material has a photosensitive and heat sensitive layer containing at least a diazo compound and a coupler or a photosensitive layer containing the diazo compound and a heat sensitive layer containing the coupler on the substrate. Slightly water-soluble coupler particles micro-encapsulated after the surfaces are made hydrophobic by treatment are used as the coupler.
